RD/Summer Crew Laundry Quarters
Resident Directors receive $50 in quarters per month for laundry. The quarters are provided as the RD comes to pick them up. Quarters given are recorded by month on the charts located near the rolled quarters in the safe. Summer Crew may receive laundry quarters as they request them. Additional RD Laundry Quarters charts can be printed from the forms folder on the shared drive.

Jackson Hall Change Machine
Around twice a month, empty the currency from the machine and refill the hoppers with Quarters. Students use the machine to get laundry quarters.

  1. Use the key from the drawer to open the machine. When the handle pops out, turn it to the left to loosen the door until you can pull it open.
  2. Empty the currency from the box behind the door.
  3. Refill the hoppers with quarters from the bucket.
  4. Reset the machine by turning it off and back on again (switch is on the back wall).
  5. Close the door and turn the handle to the right until you're able to close the door and lock it with the key.
  6. Put the currency in the vending boxes if it's a small amount. If a large amount, deposit in the bank and enter a misc. receipt in CVue with the vending acct. #.



Depositing Quarters
Quarters from the dorm laundry machines are collected by maintenance and dumped into a bucket in the Business Office. The quarters are used to fill the change machine in Jackson Hall and must occasionally be deposited in the bank or used to exchange for rolled quarters. Use the clear bank bags in the safe and the coin machine to count out 2000 quarters ($500) worth of quarters per bag. Wayne Bank prefers that nothing be filled out on the bag. Only a deposit slip is required if depositing the quarters. See below for exchanges for rolled quarters.

Ordering Rolled Quarters/Bank Deposit Record Books
BBC offers RD's $50 in rolled quarters per month for doing laundry. When the rolled quarters are getting low in the safe, call Wayne Bank in Clarks Summit (570) 587-5705 and order more boxes of quarters. There is $500 in a box. The boxes are usually available on Wednesday mornings, so you'll want to plan accordingly. It usually works out best to exchange bags of loose quarters (see instructions above) for rolled quarters.
When getting close to running out of bank deposit records, order more books by calling Wayne Bank in Clarks Summit (570) 587-5705. Be sure to notify the Director of Accounting regarding the cost of the books.
