Desk Phone Setup

Single Phone Setup (Yealink)

This setup requires 2 network cables and 1 phone. Please use the new Yealink black cable from the wall to the phone if possible. If not, use it from the PC to the phone if possible.

The PC network port (red arrow) is intended to connect to your office computer.

The Internet Port (green arrow) is intended to connect to the network wall jack.

In some cases we may use the power port if your location does not provide Power Over Ethernet. This is located to the right of the Internet Port. Power supplies can be obtained from IT.

Temporary Dual Phone Setup (CISCO + Yealink)

The dual phone setup is a temporary setup for our migration to Vonage. Once we are ported IT will arrange to remove the old CISCO phones. This setup allows us to have the phones in place when we go live and they can be used for internal calls to other Vonage phones before we port.

To properly set these up please follow these directions.

This setup requires 3 network cables, 2 phones, and 1 Yealink power supply.

On the CISCO phone (see right image below)

  • The 10/100 SW port (yellow arrow) is intended to connect to the network wall jack.

  • The 10/100 PC port (blue arrow) was connected to your office computer. Now it should connect to the Yealink phone on the Internet port (green arrow).

On the Yealink phone (see left image below)

  • The Internet port (green arrow) will be connected to the 10/100 PC port (blue arrow) on the CISCO phone.

  • The PC network port (red arrow) is intended to connect to your office computer.

  • The DC 5V power port to the right of the green arrow is required for this setup. Plug in the supplied power supply to power this phone. When we go to the single phone setup this will be retrieved and restocked in IT.
